The Democratic Party continues to complain about an "affordability crisis" while their own policies at the state and local level are a driver in higher costs. Subscribing to luxury beliefs like saving the planet, which push mandates for advancing renewable energy and eliminating fossil-fuel generation, hurt the middle class and lower income families in their states, while the wealthier and elitist classes can weather the storm. Of the 15 states with the highest increase in residential energy rates, 12 of the 15 are "blue" states. That number jumps to 14 of 15 when considering commercial rates.

More peoplel could take advantage of "off-peak" electricity rates. This would reduce costs. I live alone and use little electricity, but I save about $100/yr. using off-peak rates. A family of four could save $400/yr. It really adds up.

The more suffering and more economic hardship, the better it is for the DNC as they continually spew the Mamdani narrative of everything needs to be free, so vote for me!!

My town charges a flat rate:

Usage Charge

$0.09850 per KWH

Commercial has two tiers.

Usage 1st 700 KWH	$0.12600 per KWH
Usage over 700 KWH	$0.08800 per KWH

In Democrat run California, cooling down a house to just 80 can result in an electricity bill over 500 a month for even a small house. A 2000 square foot house can easily run close to a grand.

Blue states have a higher demand for electricity because they make more money than blue states and can afford more things that need electricity.
