If not for the Bush tax cuts and their extensions—as well as the Trump tax cuts—revenues would be on track to keep pace with spending indefinitely, and the debt ratio... would be declining," a new

You need low corporste taxes to attract businesses. You must constantly plug loopholes in the tax code AND apply tariffs against abusive trading nations/protect local production against abusers. Start by hiring former.corporate accountants as advisors. Furthermore deep spending cuts are needed, there is no other way to decrease $31T in debt.

We have a huge federal debt because the Congresspersons want to ingratiate themselves to the voters so they'll get reelected. Realizing this the people take full advantage of the largess. It's self-destruction by both groups.

Government spending is the cause! Cancel the Inflation Reduction Act

Learn how to play tax avoision and come out smelling like a rose.

Both sides love their dumbass spending. Republican lawmakers pretend they don't, and Democrat lawmakers admit they love it and can't get enough of it. And no, Dems don't have any high ground because they tax the crap out of people. They come nowhere close to their insatiable need to spend. They just kick working people in the nuts as they add to the debt. Such lovely people.

Or earn enough that it doesn't matter. People laughed at GHW Bush because he didn't know what food cost at the supermarket. I don't either as I no longer look at the price. :)
I have always bought what I felt like eating.

nations with the highest taxes have the best economies, like, um, er, Cuba, er, or something

Republican lawmakers pretend they don't

The Faux "News" ones... The "Post 1998 GOP," the 911 W Zionist "Biden Republicans"

Faux "News" never pushes FISCAL CONSERVATISM. It also expects its viewers to believe this was not controlled demolition

because those who think Faux is conservative and patriotic to America are ******* MORONS!!!

What worked was what the pre 1998 GOP did, tax AND SPENDING CUTS = booming economy, budget surplus

Covid
"Terror"
Co2 fraud

As government grew and became more unaccountable, it enabled itself to use fear based frauds to steal our freedom, our rights, our country.

Faux "News" is the #1 cause of all of that.

Actually, much of the budget is spent on the working people. Defense spending is likely the biggest 'jobs' bill in the budget, enabling thousands of workers to have gainful employment. Same with many other programs. Follow the money.

Another driver of the debt is the trade deficit, the annual losses of that must be made up by printing (borrowing) more money thus adding to the debt. Remissions, money sent home by immigrants, also reduces the money supply. Drug money, spent by addicts and users, also leaves the general economy and must be made up for.

The U.S. economy is a giant sieve. :omg:

The mistake that skews is making is one that ALL libs make.

The rate of taxation affects the rate of productivity and the size of the economy. If people are going to be literally crucified if they make a lot, they'll be more content with less and pay less taxes.

Doubling tax rates does not mean doubling tax revenues.

Look at the example of cigarette taxes. When the government proposed new health care programs for children, they explained it wouldn't cost you anything as it would paid by taxes on ciggies. If you don't smoke, its no cost to you. But then, a lot of smokers responded by cutting down or entirely quitting cigarette smoking and the taxpayers were screwed

Oh gawd, shut the **** up already about “Booooooosh” tax cuts.

When Obama had a supermajority Dem Congress, guess what he did? He kept the Bush Tax Cuts!!!!! That is when your side lost ALL credibility on taxes. Your side always fags out when it comes time to raise taxes, so you want Republicans to do it for you so they will get the unpopular blame for it.

It is impossible for tax cuts to cause debt. Borrowing causes debt, not tax cuts.
