Mao and Starlin were just classic warlords that dominated their conquered empires , they both new warring between themselves would unravel both their interests, so like a big contesting dogfight a standoff was the only intelligent option
There is no friendship because they are not friends. Commie 🇨🇳 han-China will eventually go with force against Moscow 🇷🇺 empire in Outer Manchuria (Far East) and Eastern Siberia . Aim would be primarily lake Baikal, as drinkable water sources are one of biggest things that commie Han-🇨🇳China seeks today . ALWAYS Remember , commie Han-China’s claims to Moscow’s Far East (Outer Manchuria and Eastern Siberia ) are fact-based and indisputable.

Why does China think it is entitled to Lake Baikal ?

I didn't look at the video because I don't speak Chinese or Russian.

Sarah Paine is AKA and she is really a man who stole all his / her / them / it from Havard.

His / her / them / it got a job as a custodian at Havard and at night would get into thier vaults and steal the information she used to write her books.

It was covered up because she got into the top secret part of US files.

I could tell you how I know this but I would than have to kill you.

Russia and China have hated each other for a long time, and China never lets go of a grudge.

Ms Paine is the author of this book, which I purchased some years ago. In the 1960s, there was a Sino-Soviet split because Mao faced racist treatment in Khrushchev's Soviet Union and he hated Russians. However, faced with the common enemy, Russia and China formed an uneasy alliance in the post-Cold War era to counter the United States' hegemonic power. It's like a marriage of convenience without love.

Two empires have overlapped across the vast Siberian lands for centuries. And, the Muscovites and the Hans are what we would call today - supremacists , the Hans believe that their homeland is the center of the world, while the barbaric Muscovites believe that they are the Third Rome (the center of the world).
