Let me be clear first off you should take the vaccine and hopefully it will slow the spread of Covid in this country and around the World...

With that written many of you should understand that Covid will mutate and sooner or later the vaccines we take now will be worthless against a new strain of Covid down the road and a new vaccine will need to be created or the world will be right back where we are at now.

Covid is never going away and society will adjust over time but reality is reality, so let deal with reality and understand the vaccines we have now will be outdated in a few years...

I posted this upstairs because we need a civil discussion and I know some of you believe Covid is a hoax and will never take the vaccine and I am not here to convince you that it is real or you should be vaccinated but I am here to discuss the reality Covid is never leaving and vaccines will need to be updated and taken again in a few years to battle the new variants of Covid that will happen...

So thank you for reading and enjoy the discussion...

And what is Biden going to do about it?
Biden has been President for only a few weeks and let discuss his failures and success after six months...

Also please note I did not mention Trump nor Biden or any world leader or country in this and mentioned us as a society because I do not buy into the tabloid nonsense when it come to this.

Let me be clear Trump success was project Warp Speed and I give him and those that helped the credit they deserve and I will watch Biden and see what he does and how quickly his people work to get the job done.

So as you ask that partisan question to me the answer is a wait and see moment because you can not judge anything at this moment seeing Biden has been in office for a few weeks.

I get a flu jab every year; meh!!!

Greg

We're stuck with it. Once the vaccine infrastructure is in place it is a fairly simple matter to adjust for new strains but as with the flu there is a significant lag getting it out there. During this lag time there is every opportunity for the virus to mutate again creating a cycle.

It's not as bad as you think!!!

This MRNA technology vaccines, will only take about 4 weeks to develop an alteration to the existing vaccines for any new variation!! Heard that on the news last night.

But as fast as this virus mutates we will be adjusting the vaccines every few years and the reality is Covid is here to stay...

Yes, looks like it's with us for the rest of my lifetime, which stinks!

- but there is some hope ....

The MRNA Vaccines can be modified for variants which can be developed in As little as 4 weeks, not 4 years like old vaccine methods.

Also we all need to get vaccinated, as in ASAP. Fauci was explaining that mutant variants form thru transmission, massive spread of the virus....

If we can slow the spread, we can slow the mutations forming. Get a vaccine as soon as available!

That's great but it means people will have to get another shot. Even the most optimistic estimate has widespread coverage still many months away.

No

Unfortunately the survival rate is way to high

Shots will have to be done most likely every two years in my opinion and that is the reality of the world we are living in...

Covid is not the flu...

Actually, it is. Both diseases are contagious respiratory illnesses, caused by enveloped, single-stranded RNA viruses, and both are encapsidated by nucleoproteins.

Logically, I'm going to assume that it will be impossible for Biden to match Trump's performance. The reason being that the Biden administration is more concerned with consolidating Democrat power and making sure all bad outcomes are attributed to Trump. His administrative doesn't approach problems in a problem solving way. They basically look at everything in a political way, just like they did with the summer riots last year, the pandemic, the Russia hoax, the bogus impeachments, illegal immigration, etc, etc. Democrats are more concerned with appearances than results so I fully expect that if the virus mutates and the vaccine becomes ineffective, Bidens admin. will do everything in its power to cast blame on Trump rather than to fix the problem. If Trump were President now he would have already anticipated a mutation and would be working on contingency plans.

These mutations may be natural mutations, however, in order to fast track the vaccines, they do what they call Gain of Function (GOF) studies in the labs, IMO, it's how the first one was created. They started doing that after they mapped the virus genome in 2003, and have been adding bits from other viruses like HIV since then, you know - because weaponizing a novel virus is S.O.P. in vaccine production (trust the "science", they have to be telling the truth). My pet name for the corona virus is "air borne aids". Of course, they created HIV in the lab as a bio-weapon before 1978 when they announced it to the public, so plenty of time to perfect this latest model and take it for a test spin.

The functions they added to SarsCov-2 were to make it more contagious and to spread across mutiple species to supposedly speed up the vaccine process. In essence they create the monster they fear so they can study it in case it happens to naturally occur in the wild (why wait for it to happen naturally when you can make it yourself?). Sure seems like coincidence that when they fast tracked these vaccines that new more contagious mutations started to appear. Also interesting how the first new mutation cropped up in mink on a mink farm, a favorite lab animal used in the SarsCov-2 studies.

So they will never find a long lasting vaccine because they keep making new strains that are worse than the last batch they cooked up, or you can go with the natural origins theories they use to cover up their genetic handy work. One way or another the Genie is out of the bottle now and Pandora opened that box decades ago.

It's not an Influenza virus, it is a Corona virus.

If it were a flu, wouldn't it be an Influenza virus?

Same family of viruses.

Coronaviruses ( Coronaviridae ) is a very large family of viruses that include the common cold and flu viruses, the SARS virus, the MERS virus and COVID19.

Do flu viruses have the crown of spikes?

Thsoe spikes are Neuraminidase and Hemaggluttinin and they are common to all Coronaviridae, including flu viruses. The name coronaviridae, literally means, virus with a crown. So, yes, to be in the family, they have to have the projections from the lipid envelope.
