The Music Industry Is Dying Because Of The Demise Of Bands

Lotta local talent simply figured dividing by one best for them Muddy.....~S~

There are all kinds of bands. Bands that write their own songs even. Last night I saw Sierra Hull.

the future of hard rock might just be all those AI videos on u-tube....

Good to see real musicians playing real instruments.

Still not sure what that Super Bowl Halftime crap was all about.

it was about attracting younger viewers.

I noticed this awhile back, also see part of the problem is the market is oversaturated with recording artists. Theres just to many to keep up with.

I'm sure there's bands......but they aren't in the top ten hit producers anymore.

There are a ton of great bands. I believe HK's point is valid. Too many different venue's and variety. 40 years ago there was mostly just radio. If you got played you did well. Now people have far more options to listen to what they like.

I never listen to radio.

Geezer bands are recording & touring ( Happy Mondays ) ( Sparks ) ( The Beat / Paul Collins Beat ) …

Pop music is dominated by the music producers and is all about packaging. Those who eat it up, do so because they are TOLD it is good rather than because they actually like it, the reason being that it is popular, so it MUST be good. I would offer Bad Bunny as a prime example. It's all about fitting in, peer pressure, and fashion.

That doesn't mean there aren't real bands making their own music, though. It's just that they do not dominate the air waves like they used to. If Led Zep or Queen or The Who arrived on the scene today, they would be ignored UNLESS the music insiders decided to make them popular.

This band has been on the radio for 42 years now and they are still out there on the road doing all that they are known for. :) :) :)

God bless you and each past and present member always!!!

I'm in a band and play gigs. The music industry is another matter. They started using pitch correction, graduated to live auto tune and now have AI. I mean, who needs a bunch of drugged our musicians? At least that is what they think now. I wonder how long people will enjoy listening to totally canned music. Processing shunts down the random off note singing which actually conveys emotions and feelings. AI will just be 'creative' and write using selected samples of already human created tunes.

Performers using AI or auto tune or pitch correction should disclose it so listeners know the framing.

The first decade and then some of MTV was the last great age of music.

The best music today is new music by veteran artists from the 1960s through the 1980s.

The best musicians of any age and time are to be found in jazz, new age, world, and fusion.

Very few pop and rock players are on that level, except for a select few -- one really.
