Looking at the Sunday shows yesterday one would think that 1/3/23 was just another day according to the MSM.....Could it be that they sense that the gop has no balls to use the power of the purse?

By the time Republicans (with their 8 seat "majority") get done with their infighting, their squabbling over when and how the next investigation into Hunter Biden will occur, and pitching the same failed ideas they've been hawking for decades, most voters will see they were right not to deliver a "red wave" to the GOP. And then, hopefully show them the door permanently in 2024. Unfortunately, the Senate map doesn't favor Democrats until 2026, so if they can keep it close, they have a chance to put a dent in the GOP's hopes for the next decade.

Bill Clinton was literally resurrected from the political dead because Republicans shut down the government.

Barak Obama grew in popularity after the GOP shut down the government in 2011.

People actually complain about government, but they still want their government services.

There is an election in the House for Speaker. Hardliners on the right may prevent election of a more centered (read sane) Republican leader and not vote for him. So the Dems, theoretically united behind one candidate, will have the speakership.

This only lasts until the GOP gets it's act together if I understand it right...a new speaker can be installed at any time. I may be wrong about this but the OP shouldn't worry about this and worry more about his "AO" as he puts it...
