This doc is part of a series featuring oppressed communities mainly in the third world.
This episode is foccussed on americas beleagured librarians as they face a right wing book burning surge.
The doc makes the obvious connection to nazi Germany as well as americas macarthy era.
But its the personal stories of heroism that stand out. Dignified women standing up to fascist bullies in what was once a democratic country.
One man makes the point that not one parent had made a complaint about a single book.
The campaign was financed by dark right wing money and is pursuing a right wing agenda.
The problem they have now is that Maga has no more use for kids. Since trump was named in the epstein files they are strangely silent.
I hope this means the book burners will depart the scene but I somehow doubt it.
Meanwhile my best wishes go to the brave librarians. They are better than these places deserve.
