So for those who pay attention to such things, was the trade of AD for Luka a good one, a bad one, or not very important? Would a healthy AD have improved the Lakers' performance?

Assuming that LeBron comes back next year, will it be imperative for the Lakers to add another all-star-caliber player in order to be truly competitive?

When the Lakers of old got Wilt, they already had Jerry West and Elgin Baylor. Wilt made them a super team, if only for a season or two. No such luck this time, eh?

especially defensively. Wilt owned the key, and even three-on-one fast breaks would pull up to try jump shots against him. As a result his teammates would overplay their opponents and intentionally drive them towards the basket. If you haven't seen it, you probably won't believe it. In addition to his scoring records, Wilt was the greatest defensive player who ever lived.

The day the Lakers announced that they traded for James was the last game I watched.... I dislike James... as a person and a player and a team mate.... and besides the covid season he has not delivered for my beloved Lakers...
So I hope he hangs it up....

Lucas got the Lakers to the playoffs. But, they needed another rebounder big to stop Gobert. Also, Wilt had Goodrich as well to run the point. The Lakers didn't have a true point to run the offense and play good defense. Way back when, I also thought it was a mistake to get rid of Randle. Anyone could see when he was a rookie what a great player he was going to be.
