I've been looking to buy a home after a move and the prices are ridiculous. A house that before Biden was $159K is now over $400K.

There's no such thing as a starter home anymore because everything is over $200k. Even a shack with no central air.

While the Democrats are taking a break from burning down cities they've started talking about "Affordability", which they know nothing about.

All Democrats do is create poverty. They do nothing about making anything affordable.

Kids who are just starting families will have to live in villas and townhomes at best, or apartment complexes. They won't be able to afford a single family home.

This reminds me of California 30 years ago in the 80s. But now California has spread to the rest of the country.

One primary reason for high housing prices for new homes are a little thing called tariffs. You might of heard of them, but I doubt it.

There is another concept of course that you MAGA commies seem to be unfamiliar with and that is supply and demand. Look it up.

Housing has been very high long long before Biden. He didnt help but corporatists share a big part of the blame.

Tariffs have no effect on home prices and have had littel effect on prices at all

Prices were skyrocketing years before tariffs.

You need to make up your mind.

Is Trump putting tariffs on other countries or is he pulling a taco?
You can't have both.

And FYI, Biden caused the price of building materials to skyrocket because of government regulations.
The price of lumber was jacked up because of government regulations.
The price of homes was jacked up because Democraps chased people out of their states moving into Red States.
I started noticing Green-haired nose-ringers invading my town where there where none 5 years ago.
In one year the price of my home doubled because the mayor of Nashville jacked up property taxes 30% as soon as he took office.
This forced people to flee Nashville and move 42 miles North up to Clarksville driving costs into the Stratosphere.
Just doing that caused my taxes to go up 30% in one year.
Everywhere liberals move to becomes immediately unaffordable.....which is probably part of the Dem's master plan.

It's true, when you let 12 million illegal aliens move in, they'll demand housing.

Sorry but I have no sympathy for those that whine about home prices and expect to move into a mansion once they get a job. My first place was a 1 bedroom condo, my second was a small house just big enough for my family. my third was a full-sized home, not huge but enough space to raise a family in a good school district.

There are many reasons homes are expensive but the main one, IMHO, is that people can afford them. It is called the free market. Houses are cheap in Iowa and expensive in NYC because people want to live in NYC, at least they did before Mamdani.

Oh yeah. I remember when Trump instituted tariffs on home buying.

WTF????

Nope. Not everywhere. When I moved to TN it was amazing how cheap housing was. Now....TN is almost as bad as CA when I left in the 80s.

It's just that Dems have done everything they can to make the disease spread throughout the US instead of just in Blue Cities.

For a young family it is always tough starting out. It's been quite a few decades ago, but I recall the tough times when buying my first home even while having a decent salary. Money sure was tight as I was living the Dave Ramsey financial plan decades before ever hearing of Dave Ramsey.

But once in a home, its appreciation is a most welcome feeling of security. I got married for the 2nd time in 2008 back during the housing crash. We kept both our separate houses and bought a third. A few years later when things recovered, we sold both older homes to our adult kids for current appraised values at the time. We gifted them the 20% down payment and it was a win-win for us and the kids.

Hang in there. If you play it smart things will get easier.

My condo has appreciated at a staggering rate. I get inquiries about it all the time, several a week.
But why would I move when everything else has gone up so much too?
No thanks. I'll stay where I am.

Yep. You give a free pass to the gop. Laughable. I call out both cults.
