Adelita Grijalva’s swearing in on Wednesday will make her Democrats’ newest member in the US House of Representatives, but it’ll also officially set in motion lawmakers’ effort to force a vote on a measure the White House has fought for months: a bill to compel the release of the Jeffrey Epstein case files.

After her 4 p.m. swearing in, Grijalva is expected to provide the 218th – and final – signature needed on the discharge petition to force such a vote and, in turn, trigger a number of procedural steps before the House can vote on a bill compelling the files’ release.

You gotta ask. Why are the repubs and the trump people fighting so hard to keep the Epstein files under wraps? Is there something in there that is even more damaging than the emails that came out today? After months and months of candidate trump saying he will release everything if elected, why has he suddenly decided it is not necessary? No one trusted the trump run DOJ. Why would be trust a limited dump of the files.

I would be very, very surprised if all of the Republicans who agreed to vote for the discharge peitition do so now.

It is no coincidence Submissive Mike Johnson waited until now to swear the Democrat in.

Think about it.

Just a few minutes after swearing her in, the House will gather around to vote on the budget.

What a tasty time to offer big pork spending to those discharge petition Republicans, eh?

The Weasel Speaker will literally do ANYTHING to protect Jeff Epstein's best friend, including spending your tax money to do it.

Massie said he has the votes. He said that even if some dropped out he would still be able to get the votes.

We will see.

I guarantee that team trump will get to Boebert (or one of the (R) that signed the 'Discharge Petition.) with threats and at least ONE of the 4 will take their name OFF of the Discharge Petition.

Massie himself
Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia
Nancy Mace of South Carolina
Lauren Boebert of Colorado

I'll bet on Nancy Mace, 'cause she's the hottest.

Man, am I looking forward to drinking anti-Trumper tears when she does!

The Repubs fight it because they love that Democrats and "not Democrats" are distracted from real issues that affect the future in their obsession with digging up the past.

If there are tape and videos with the evidence you want, will they even play on today's equipment?

If Trump and Johnson are able to strongarm the Repubicans in favor of the discharge petition to withdraw their support, those Democrats in the Senate who voted to end the shutdown are going to be sliced, diced, chopped, slopped, drawn-and-quartered, and flambéed on a MSN television pay-per-view special.

If that were true, he would not have needed Grijalva all this time.

He clearly did and still does.
Yes, he was literally begging for her to be sworn in.

You know what happens once they have the number of signatures needed on the petition, right?

Yep. The Speaker cannot stop a discharge petition once it receives enough votes, and now there are enough votes.

And this just in: The discharge petition has been successfully passed.

Now the Epstein Files Transparency Act will be voted on in early December, and that will compel the FBI to turn over their PedoFiles.

The Epstein Files Transparency act may or may not pass the House. As I've tried to explain, that won't compel the FBI to turn over anything.

Since Democrats and "not Democrats" love and trust AI:

If the Epstein Files Transparency Act passes the House of Representatives, it will then be sent to the Senate for consideration. However, reports indicate it is unlikely to pass the Senate or be signed into law by President Donald Trump.

Next Steps in the Legislative Process

  • Senate Consideration: After passing the House, the bill would go through the standard legislative process in the Senate, which involves being referred to a committee (likely the Judiciary Committee), potentially debated and voted on.
  • Presidential Approval Needed: For the bill to become law, it must pass both the House and the Senate in the exact same form and then be signed by the President.
  • Likely Outcome: Based on recent reports, President Trump has personally urged Republicans to block the bill, and the White House has suggested he would not sign it into law. Senate leaders have also expressed the opinion that the legislation is not necessary. Therefore, the bill is widely expected to stall in the Senate or be vetoed.
Suppose a miracle occurs and both the Senate and the President sign off on the bill, making it law.

You think there will then be a massive document dump by the FBI of unredacted files for Democrats to start tearing through?
