Is it the school or is it phone. Smart phones are ruining life as we know it. You can send a kid to school doesn't mean they drink from the well of knowledge. Parents are also responsible for child education. If school is not reinforced at home the kid sits on their thumb all day

The social media are part of the problem, this morning i had a dentist appointment, as i was looking around the waiting room i would say 90% of the people were glued to their phones totally oblivious of anything around them, its a long time ago but in my School days we used a pen and paper and read Books, maybe the old ways are better in many ways, also as a teenager i worked part time in retail and would calculate the price of several items mentally didn't even use a calculator or note paper to write prices down.

The social media are part of the problem, this morning i had a dentist appointment, as i was looking around the waiting room i would say 90% of the people were glued to their phones totally oblivious of anything around them, its a long time ago but in my School days we used a pen and paper and read Books, maybe the old ways are better in many ways, also as a teenager i worked part time in retail and would calculate the price of several items mentally didn't even use a calculator or note paper to write prices down.

Hell, people can't even make change these days.

Correct, also when i was at School we didn't have time to become delinquents because me and my friends were too busy doing things of interest, i was in the Sea Cadets for four years including being a drummer in the Band, meeting every Monday and Friday evening learning about seamanship and Band practice and on Sunday Mornings, in between all that i did my Duke of Edinburgh Award Bronze and silver, and School Homework. looking back don't know how i found the time.

That was typical back in the day. There are still some kids that do that but are much more rare these days. None of my kids(now adults) have that screen time issue. I didn't allow it as a parent. My eldest grandchild just got a switch. Buried in it, for now. Notice my daughter and son in law growing impatient with it. My two granddaughters seem to have no interest in screen time for now. They are little wild women bursting with energy and always on the move. Hope they stay that way. High school was busy for me also. Basketball, baseball, chess club, and worked for my father as a land surveyor. Busy but great times.
