by your own admission you DUmmies are one gullible group.. tricked into voting for the war, and even after you discovered that trick you were tricked into funding it,, duped..
This is the only part I will address since I already addressed the rest in previous posts. However, once something like a war has started you have no choice but to fund it. Oh yeah, that would be great, with all the soldiers over there then suddenly pulling all funding to them ... that would just be irresponsible and pure evil.
No, you do have a choice,, if your ass is against the war then vote to defund it,, then they have no other choice but to bring the troops home,,
but of course you democrats don't have the courage of your convictions and you're are so easily tricked..
Truer words are seldom spoken, there, Willow.
The Dems are NOT the party of peace.
Never have been, never will be.
Historically, with a few exceptions of course, it was the REPUBLICANS who were the party which believed that the USA was best served by isolationism.
They were ALSO historically speaking, the party most opposed to FREE TRADE.
If history were any guide (it isn't anymore, because neither party actually stands for anything) I would be a staunch true blue loyal Republican.
I read what you people who identify yourselves as conservatives and who have fairly consistently supported the current crop of Republicans, think is right and good, and I marvel that today's Republicans are, in fact, exactly the people that yesterday's Republicans thought were god damned fools.
Look at history...
Freed the slaves? Republicans
Believed in Federalism? Republicans
Hated FREE TRADE? Republicans
Thought that American should never get involved in alliances with European nations? Republicans
Believed that corporations should be limited from creating MONOPOLIES? Republicans.
Now look at the policies that today's Republicans stand for.
See how different what tody's Republicans support is compared to what yesterday's Republicans supported?
I am a 1950's Republican if you measure what I believe to what they believed.
The only major difference between what I believe now, and what they believed then, is that they objected to social security and welfare and I don't.
Ike saw where the nation was headed, folks.
The man had his flawed policies, but he understood how America was changing because he was in a position to really understand who was REALLY pulling this nation's strongs.
