Largely overlooked in all the to-do with the transfer and Russians is the Democrat party leadership. The old guard, the Clintons and Obama are out. A crucial decision needs to be made for the direction of the party.

There are essentially 3 groups:

The limousine liberals personified by Clinton/Pelosi/Reid

Bernie's boys on the left featuring Bernie of course and Squaw Warren

The blue collar Dems or what's left of them after Tim Ryan's unsuccessful attempt to unseat Pelosi.

There is other dynamic here though. Blacks and Hispanics who formed nearly half of the Democrats base. While blacks can be taken for granted and ignored of another 4 years, Hispanics are pivotal for any chance of success. That despite Trump's comments concerning Mexicans, he improved to 29% from 27% of Hispanic vote in the general.

Democrats may be well advised to dump Ellison and go for maybe Tom Perez and dig into their depleted bench for an Hispanic to run in 2020. It is their only hope.

Simply, black votes are not a problem. Hispanics could easily be lost and damn Dems for decades.

Decimated: The best word to describe what's left of the demoquack party.

Which is hilarious since just last summer they were screaming the GOP was dead and would never recover. Look at the situation now....the GOP in control at nearly every state and federal level
