With the Viet Nam war over. The 1970's in America saw a slow drift in public sentiment to the right wing. Democrats simply assumed their liberal agenda would keep on winning much as it had before. Enter 1980 and the Reagan revolution, and the dem's stayed largely out of power for the next 12 years. The same thing is happening now. If the Democratic party wants to win again, they need to:
* Take a long, hard look at what they are trying to sell the American people, because most voters aren't buying it.
* Find out why so many working-class white men have drifted over to the GOP and devise a sustainable plan to get them back. (Perhaps stop making them the poster boy for every evil deed in the country would help)
* Stop bashing Trump and the GOP and start finding workable solutions to real world problems.
I don't know how long the Dem's will be in denial over this, but hope it won't take another 12 years.
