The Goody-Bag Dementia
What will be President Trump's 'badge'?
====
TOM CRUISE: Americans are tired of standard consumerism.
CHARLIE ROSE: Are you saying Americans want 'radical propaganda'?
TOM CRUISE: Middle Eastern groups demonize America for its laissez-faire stance on capitalism.
CHARLIE ROSE: How do you regulate consumerism in a democratic country?
TOM CRUISE: You make it federal policy to endorse Planet Hollywood and Toys 'R Us!
CHARLIE ROSE: Should governments mingle that much in business?
TOM CRUISE: Why not? Do we want to fall behind Communist China in capital control?
CHARLIE ROSE: No, we sure don't, but American consumers cherish personal liberties.
TOM CRUISE: American consumers are lazy and just want to watch Super Bowl ads.
CHARLIE ROSE: You've received criticism in the press for being intolerant of anti-Scientology views.
TOM CRUISE: Scientology is a great podium for the praising of religious pluralism and must not be insulted!
CHARLIE ROSE: Are you proposing some kind of censorship?
TOM CRUISE: Look, two relics of consumerism (from the '80s, etc.) are water-pistols and cassettes.
CHARLIE ROSE: Yes, those two 'toy-like items' definitely symbolize the 'culture of consumerism.'
TOM CRUISE: Right (they even look like toys!). Why not nationalize creativity?
CHARLIE ROSE: Voters will be obligated to determine if capitalism is worth the 'ulcers.'
