As usual, Democrat Presidents have to clean up the messes left by their Republican predecessors. Bill Clinton had to do it, as well as Presidents Obama and Biden. Obama and Biden had especially tough tasks as their aggressively unqualified predecessors left messes beyond the pale.

And the new Democrat president in 2029 will have a gargantuan task cleaning up after Trump. It could well take him/her two terms to repair his disasters! Trump especially likes to talk about "fraud and waste." The only problem with that is There Ain't None! And, as usual, Trump presents no Evidence to back up his many claims! Bigly!!!

LOL, I've been hearing the democrat doom and gloom about SS demise for over 50 years. It's a lie--just like your post. BTW, what mess will the democrats have to clean up if they ever get in office again? Will they be back at square one on starting wars?

Are all leftists as stupid as you? You post a link to a story you didn't even read. It was your very own President
Vegetable who signed the law that caused the advancement of the depletion date.

From the link you provided but didn't read:

The immediate cause of the depletion date’s moving forward was the Social Security Fairness Act, which eliminated provisions that reduced benefits for teachers, firefighters, police officers and other public workers who receive pensions.

The greedy corrupt Democrats blew $1.7 trillion on the climate change scam instead of on saving SS.

SS is perhaps the best thing this nation has ever created

If teachers police and firefighters pay into SS then they should get the benefits. Why would receiving a pension matter?

Teachers, police and firefighters don't contribute but could have contributed in another job during their lifetime.

And it's not my point. I see you're another leftie with comprehension or intelligence problems.

My point is the OP ranted on and on about Trump causing SS to move up the SS depletion date when his own linked article explained that it was Biden who signed the legislation that caused it.

Teachers, police, and firefighters DO contribute to social security.

If they are in a state that has opted out of Social Security, they don't pay in, but then again they DO NOT receive Social Security for that time period.

Public employees in public employees in Alaska, Colorado, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Nevada, and Ohio don't pay into Social Security, but don't draw it based on that time. California is kind of weird as it's a mixture with some types of public EEs not paying into SS but into CalPERS instead.

Just FYI....

If the government was not stealing from it and leaving worthless IOU's there would not be a problem
SS is what is called a Ponzi scheme.
SS has worked fine since 1947.
It needs a tweak occasionally due to changing demographics.
At inception there were many workers per retiree.
Today there are many fewer, and in the future, if family creation continues to lag, (or less legal immigration), even fewer.
Worst case SS pays out what it takes in.
A simple fix is to remove the cap, that makes it solvent forever.

I'm in Ohio, public employees don't pay into SS.

So two things...

#1 Then public employees for Ohio DO NOT get to draw SS for their time in service in Ohio.

#2 I'm in Virginia, public employees (including teachers, police, and firefighters) DO pay into SS and therefore draw SS for that time in service.
