I feel sorry for the kids today.

I was born in 1954 and am the luckiest guy around. So many things my generation didn't have to deal with!

1. Political correctness

2. Safe zones

3. Time outs

4. Hypersensitivity

5. Coddling every racial and sexual minority on the planet.

We drank from garden hoses, rode our bikes without helmets, got our asses belted when we disobeyed our parents, did our paper routs, learned responsibility, played outside, did our homework, and didn't get to take refuge behind the skirts of some mealy-mouthed counselor when we were just plain lazy.

I'll be 71 in a few months, and thank God I grew up
a better era! :)

You missed something. Back then we didn't have the internet feeding unsupervised kids lies and bullshit.

Every generation in history has felt this way

It has more to do with the natural human tendency to be nostalgic for one’s youth than it does with your generation’s childhood being specifically better than any other generation’s

Nah, just casual observation can point to how they are fucked-up.

The other morning I passed a good score of school bus stops. At each and every one there would be a knot of kids waiting for their bus, all with their nose in their phones.....Zero social interaction with each other.

That is not healthy.

I went into a coffee shop one time and there were four teenagers sitting at a table, 3 boys and a girl. Well this young lady was hot and looked absolutely bored because the three boys had their faces glued to their phones. The ten minutes I was there the guys never said a word to her just looked at their phones.

I discovered at work when people are glued to their phones doing something they are oblivious to the outside world. I said to one guy on his phone, "Why don't you give me a blow job you big homo" and waited. About ten seconds later he said, "What did you say?" Try it with someone you know. You can say anything to someone on their phone and they usually reply with, "What did you say?"

Born in 1954? Were you in a coma for the next two decades?

I'm the same age Bill. My first apartment's rent was $80/mo. I made $4.09/hr. welding for Fruehauf Corp. It was easy to be rich back then.
