Sanders was a Communist.

In any case, there were party members in both parties that fought for civil rights--an against it. Most notably against it were Southern conservatives who were mostly Democrats at the time.

I wonder why do Republicans forget to talk about Southern conservatives roles in the civil rights movement. It is not like they have anything to hide now?
