Glad to see this though obviously she deserved life without POP. Textdrivers are psychopaths who see nothing wrong with murdering innocent people. They are worse than DUIs since drunkdrivers don't always know they are drunk. Textdrivers know exactly what they are doing but don't care.

sep 16 2025 An Alabama woman texting on her cellphone plowed into a 55-year-old man and killed him while he was "checking his mail" — then drove off like nothing happened, cops say.

Tammy Albanese, 56, of Astor, will spend years behind bars after entering a guilty plea on Monday for the deadly hit-and-run of Teddy Eugene Self on Sept. 22, 2022, according to AL.com. She was sentenced to 20 years in prison after being convicted of reckless manslaughter, with the possibility of parole after serving three years. She was also convicted of leaving the scene of an accident causing injury or death, which landed her a 10-year sentence, of which she must serve two years before being eligible for parole, the local outlet reports.
Investigators searched Albanese's phone records and said that they discovered she was texting when she struck Self with her black F-150, according to AL.com.

After three years she can get out on paper.
I saw that and that's crazy but at least she will do some time. Usually, what we laughingly call the law says, "it was an accident so let's forget it."

I saw a guy text and driving in the left lane.

If he wasn't driving so fast...I would have took the chance and got in front of him and put on my brakes.

Hello big time JOOO* lawyer on the other end of my line...I need your services.

* I am allowed to use that slur because I got JOOO in me.

I got behind a woman in a Jeep Saturday morning (Jeep's top had been removed) and she just sat at a green light texting away.

I have her the horn and away she went, still texting away, I passed her and she was still texting and "driving" with her fuckin' knees.

People like that need to be pulled over and curb stomped.

I'm fired if the cam in the truck triggers and I'm on my phone talking or texting

She should renounce her citizenship in exchange for sharply reduced sentence.

According to the write up, the driver and the victim are one year apart in their ages. Should the driver still be alive at the end of that 20-year period, the status of the victim will not be doing any changing still.

God bless you and their family always!!!

I knew a guy who was drunk driving and split the “other” guys car into two virtual halves. The other guy was killed. Don’t wasn’t just drunk driving, it was vehicular homicide.

He didn’t get off. But he didn’t do all that much time, either. Upon his eventual release from prison and after a few more years, he even got his law license restored.

Some flexibility for varying circumstances makes some sense. But the vagaries of the law and the inexplicable differences in sentencing make the legal system more of a crap shoot than it should be.

In Saskatchewan where I live this is what it costs if you're caught using your cell phone.

1st offence - $580 ticket and 4 demerit points

2nd offence within a year of being convicted of the first - $1,400 ticket, plus an additional 4 demerit points, plus an immediate, 7-day vehicle seizure

3rd offence within a year of conviction of the first - $2,100 ticket, plus 4 more demerits and another 7-day vehicle seizure

Yes some have had to pay the $4080 for the three. Not sure what happens if someone gets caught a fourth time.

They belong in prison but we don't have the space for all these DWT psychopaths. But we can take away their DL.

So they never actually lose their license? That's not enough. First time DWT should mean 6 month DL suspension. Second time - 3 years.

No they don't lose their licenses here in Saskatchewan though it might be different in other provinces. Those demerits cost money. The link below is how those demerits work if you care to read it.

Rich people don't care about fines. The penalty has to be loss of DL or some jail time. THINK

Think about what? All I did was give you my provinces laws. This is my view. If I'm going 60 mph down the highway and someone passes me while they're on their phone and crashes ten seconds later I'd keep on driving because if they had crashed ten seconds earlier they would have crashed into me.
