The FDR administration forced Ike's troops to halt outside Berlin so that the Russian hoard could loot the city. Churchill was the first to recognize that the FDR administration paved the way for the "Iron Curtain". The media was part of the FDR administration at the time so there was little criticism.

The situation in Eastern Europe and Baltics under Soviet occupation was similar to America under Jim Crow, when African Americans were relegated to the status of second class citizens. But we didn't care about what happened behind the Iron Curtain during the Cold War.
