More Democrat insurrection. This guy is such a joke.
California gubernatorial candidate and Democrat Rep. Eric Swalwell (CA-14) claims that military members have privately confided in him plans to serve as a "check" to any orders issued by President Trump, suggesting they could defy their superiors.
The idea that service members are secretly huddling with a congressman who can't bench press above 135 and whose top athletic feat was having to retire from soccer after breaking both of his thumbs is specious at best.
That said, his remarks are an attempt to keep the sedition train rolling in the wake of a video from six Democratic lawmakers encouraging military members to defy orders from their superiors.
Swalwell, who apparently is so strapped for time that he had to partake in an interview with Don Lemon while riding as a passenger in his car, discussed suggestions that the Trump administration is "telling on themselves" by going after Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ) for taking part in the video.
But lo, there are leftist heroes amongst the military who allegedly want to heed Democrats' advice to defy wholly imagined "illegal orders." And they're running to the California lawmaker to let him know.
"What gives me hope, and I talk to service members all the time," Swalwell claimed without evidence. "They tell me that I don't appreciate enough and the public doesn't appreciate enough that while Congress is not a check on the president anymore, and the judiciary at the Supreme Court is hardly a check, military members have told me, ‘We can be a check.'"
