That was the first thing they upheld, which obviously why would they do that if they were going to toss the rest? I was tentatively optimistic at that point.

No. The medicaid expansion was struck and the penalties were struck. The medicaid exchange is unconstitutional and the feds may not withhold funds from a state if they do not offer expanded medicaid to the poor.

If you choose to not get government insurance, the plan was to fine people. Now they can't. There are no penalties.

No, you have it wrong. The states don't have to accept the expanded medicaid requirements and then get kicked out. The states will stay in the system.

The taxing portion was not struck in the mandate. Simple fix for Congress to do.

Pre-existing conditions cannot be denied, everyone who wants has to be covered.

I'm pretty sure the IRS will have a much different opinion on that. This is an awful decision. Shame on the Supreme Court. Can't count on them for Justice. That's pretty obvious.
