Support for Trump is deteriorating almost as quickly as his health.
Trump has a very weird blotch on his right hand which is getting worse, and karma has afflicted him with cankles. He is also showing more and more signs of dementia.
I know the first thought of some people will be that Trump is not running for president again, but that is just a desperate denial of how important a president's popularity is in mid-term elections.
And before anyone hawks up the unpopularity of the Democratic Party in the polls, there's this:
Things are looking bad for Trump.
The Economist/YouGov poll found that 40 percent of Americans “strongly or somewhat” approve of Trump’s handling of the presidency. More than half of U.S. adults, 56 percent, said they “strongly or somewhat” disapprove of the president’s job. Some 4 percent were not sure when asked.

The worst part is that Trump can't even score 50 percent approval among his most loyal supporters:
Trump’s highest approval rating is among those 65 years old and older, with nearly half, 48 percent, saying they “strongly or somewhat” approve of his work as president.

Just less than a quarter of surveyed Americans, 23 percent, said they “strongly approve” of Trump’s work as president, while 47 percent said they “strongly disapprove.”

That survey was two days ago.

Here's another:
President Donald Trump’s current job approval rating stands at 38%, with 60% of U.S. adults expressing disapproval of his performance. This is a modest decline from two months ago, when 41% approved.
And perceptions of some of Trump’s personal traits are more negative than they were following his election victory (or in 2024 preelection polling). For instance, 37% of Americans today say “cares about the needs of ordinary people” describes Trump well. That share is 8 points lower than it was shortly after the November election, and 5 points lower than it was in late-summer preelection polling.

Smaller shares say the same about the phrases “mentally sharp” (48%), “keeps his promises” (43%), “cares about the needs of ordinary people” (37%), “honest” (36%) or “a good role model” (29%).

Looking at that chart, Trump is far more unpopular now than when Biden bungled the Afghanistan withdrawal!

This survey was taken just before Trump invited the Stalinist mass murderer onto American soil.

- Overall, six in 10 continue to support the United States sending arms and military supplies to Kyiv (62%, up from 52% in March) and providing economic assistance to Ukraine (61%, up from 55% in March)
- The most substantial shifts are among Republicans (+9 percentage points for economic assistance, +21 military aid) and Independents (+7 economic, +10 military). In fact, 51 percent of Republicans now support providing military aid to Ukraine.
- Large majorities of both Republicans (74%) and Democrats (77%) support increasing sanctions against Russia.
- The potential for Putin’s refusal of a peace deal does not seem to impact American public support for US policies toward Ukraine.
- Six in 10 Americans (60%) express a favorable view of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy; just 10 percent view Putin favorably.
