How thankful can we all be that Eli Manning and the Giants broke up the Patriots undefeated season in the Super Bowl?

Didn't realize it was 86 degrees at kickoff, definite advantage Miami.

Long live the '72 Dolphins.

I just heard the announcer say that the winners got $15,000 and the losers $7,500, in 1972 the winners would get the equivalent of $113,000 today.

A good video highlights of their 72 season. I have always felt they should have let Earl Morrel at least play some in the Super Bowl that year.

Earl Morral was horrible is Super Bowl 3

Wasn't that the infamous fixed game?
History says Joe Namath led the Jets to victory

If you watch the game, the Colts gave it away.
In the first half, the Colts drove inside the 20 FIVE TIMES and came away with zero points

Before my time, but did you watch the game?

I saw it live when I was a kid
Watched it again on YouTube a few years ago.

I was amazed at how 17 point favorite Colts managed to repeatedly give the game away

Is it the full game on vid? If so, then I will check it out.

So doesn't giving the game away indicate possible nefarious activity? BTW, I generally don't buy all this fraud by refs when it comes to KC. These guys make too much money these days to be swayed. The mafia's best bet is to hit up college athletes. Temple's Hysier Miller is the latest story, but the gov has, so far, come up empty-handed. And then Miller just got axed from V Tech without any evidence against him. Total BS.

The Colts were, by far, the best team in the NFL
If you watch the game with an eye towards “is this fixed” it is hard to believe otherwise

But doesn't it also work the other way? A viewer could confirm his preconceived notion that it's not fixed.

Is this the full game (link below)? It's only a little over two hours, but they could have really edited it.

Edit: Oh, never mind. The NFL clowns blocked it from showing up. I'll see what I can find.

I find it hard to believe a 17 pt favorite would give away a Championship. If not fixed….inept?

Joe Namath and the Jets did not play that well

Maybe inept, but fixing usually does not involve the whole team. If it's football, then you bribe kickers, WRs, and the QB.

Okay, I skimmed the first half looking for key plays. The most famous seems to be the flea flicker. The Colt receiver was, apparently, wide open (they didn't show how wide he was open because, I guess, instant replay was not used much by the broadcasters). But the play by play guy said Orr (the WR) was on the ten yard line and could have walked in. Instead, the Colt QB Earl throws it to an apparently blanketed receiver. It's gets picked off.

It was speculated that QB Earl Morall did not see his wide open receiver (Orr) because the Florida A&M marching band was in the end zone. The speculation was that the band was wearing blue just like the Colt receiver was wearing blue, so Orr was lost against the same color back drop. I say baloney because I watched this several times. The marching was NOT wearing blue. They were wearing RED.

Another thing. I replayed the flea flicker several times. Morrall did not even look the way of his wide open receiver. He was looking the entire time at his blanketed receiver, but he throws the ball anyway.

One more. I saw one series where the Colts were in the red zone. It was the one in five where they did not score. They attempted a 27 yard field goal. If I remember right, the kicker is on the right hash, meaning he needs to angle the kick. He doesn't angle it. He actually kicked the ball so straight that he was sure to miss it. I'm guessing that if he was a fixer, then he'd be scared to even come close. That is why he was so far off. It looked blatant. It was a lousy 27 yarder missed by a mile. Come on.

I am going to look some more. I'm not saying those plays confirm suspicions, but it does look ridiculous. Til later...
