Where? Seattle. Of course

A student with a 3.87 GPA is suing the school district because she can't read

I wonder how many more of these kids there are? In Seattle? In the US?

It's ok. The country needs more fry cooks and whores anyway.

Around half of school children can not read or are not able to read at their grade level. Thank you to those that pushed the No Child Left Behind idea.
That number is expected to climb.
Our school system has been broken for many years.

Lol, hilarious if ya think this only happens in Seattle. If the school has an athletic program there are those getting by with learning nothing. Where I went to highschool 90 percent of the voters voted for Trump. I tutored mathematics there, many I tutored where on the football or basketball team. No way some of those dumb ducks graduated without some funny business.

She's suing because she didn't jump through the correct hoops to get the free stuff.

.

If she'd wanted to read, she would have read and nothing would have been able to stop her. From the moment I started learning how to read, I never stopped reading.

.

I’ll bet she can regurgitate DEI, Climate Agenda, and Communist content with extreme precision. Reading and STEM skills sets be damned.

I saw that headline earlier but didn't read she was suing. Yes, they are probably many instances of this and those very stupid West Coast states of Washington and Oregon were dumbing down the curriculum because it was racist towards blacks.

Typical of today's education of our Children.
Recent data supports your concern: many students are indeed graduating high school without basic literacy skills. As of 2024–2025, national assessments and adult literacy surveys indicate that a significant portion of the U.S. population struggles with reading, even after completing formal education.
Recent analysis shows that one in four young adults (ages 16–24) in the U.S. is functionally illiterate, yet more than half of this group holds a high school diploma.
Many schools transition from "learning to read" to "reading to learn" after 3rd grade; students who haven't mastered basic skills by then often find it nearly impossible to catch up by high school.
