The election is still a year out, but Stefanik has gained considerable momentum against Hochul. Interestingly, Mamdani could be the kingmaker in this election. If New York City descends into chaos quickly under his leadership, it could be a boon for Stefanik's chances.

Apparently Cuomo has not shown enough remorse for previous failings, and that is why he is trailing so badly. He is clearly the most experienced and possibly the most capable person running for mayor, but sometimes, people just want change, and his arrogance is probably just too much for some.
