State Trooper observe that cars cause most car/semi-truck accidents...

No way. Saturn's up there directly overhead tonight with no moon to wash it out.

I spent the first 7 nights of November at sea and do not recall seeing a single star because of the cloudy weather at night. The days were all bright and sunny except the last full day which was constant rain. I had the outer wall of my stateroom was solid glass, Didn't see a damned thing.

... And gives good advice.

Commentary... since many commuters drive like they have sub 80 IQ, I don't believe they have the intellectual capability to cognitively process this video... buy here it is anyway.

makes sense, trucks are big, heavy and have blind spots, not easy to stop
cars can be small, quick and the trucker just can't see them

That sucks. I've never been out of sight of land, but that would be one of the main reasons I'd like to go one day. To see the sky far from the lights of man.

In the meantime, Wyoming, Montana and the Dakotas are a mighty fair substitute.

Well, one of my best friends spent his career with the VSP pulling over the big rigs and never-ever did he find one that passed muster.....Mostly faulty braking systems.

Now while it's certainly true that cars cause the bulk of accidents the poor condition of many of the rigs involved in those accidents makes it that much worse.

I used to love star gazing at night on my cruiser in the middle of the ocean on a perfectly clear night. In fact, the first time I saw Halley's comet was right above the USS Forrestal aircraft carrier we were escorting off the coast of Florida.

In my experience, truck drivers are better drivers than car drivers. Driving to work in NYC at 4AM with mostly truckers was fine. Driving home with the office people, we call them the cleans, was a nightmare. The cleans have too much ego and privilege. They hang in the left lane, right next to a truck, not passing, and seemingly just waiting for the truck to blow one of its recaps. They don't realize that the trucker can't see or stop as good as they can. They don't understand that truckers will use a downhill slope to get momentum to go up an adjoining uphill slope. Cars need to help trucks out, if only because if anything happens, they're going to be the big loser.
