The Octoberfest in Mount Angel, Oregon, a very small rural community well off the main road, gets many tens of times more visitors than your silly Stand for Liberty got participants in the whole nation. Proves Americans care far more about their beer and brats than about a bunch of silly assholes that committed a whole bunch of felonies, and are now wishing they had some beer to cry in. Or some pot. LOL

You do not have a right to take over government property using guns. That is what John Brown was justly hung for. And you don't have a right to shoot Oregon State Policeman doing their duty. That is why Lavoy Finnicum was shot.

And aiming a gun at a federal officer is assault with a deadly weapon. And that does not go away just because of two years. The people that have been arrested in this case amply deserve to spend a goodly number of years in the federal pen.

Yes, the far right wing lunatics are a very small minority, and we really don't give a shit about them, other than when they point guns at police officers, and try to steal public land.

The fanatics were the counter protesters. Peter Walker, a uo Prof. nut job, devoted a lot of time and energy spreading the lie that the liberty protesters would be waving weapons and trying to kill people. He invited the homeless community, and the occupy loons. He posted a bunch of garbage about how he witnessed protesters at burns threatening people (a total lie). Then he packed up his family and kids and showed up at the rally...where he and his family and a few of his students and friends were pretty much the only protesters. If he truly believed we were the dangerous ones, would he have brought his family? Of course not. he's a liar, just like all the other deadbeat provocateurs.

He also was quite proud of the fact that his 8 year old son (who had a bullhorn at the protest) wanted FBI tactical gear so he could attack protesters with his heroes.

Our side handed out lunches to the hungry homeless and responded to the jeering and profanity of the few counter protesters with kindness. There was a guy there who had a bullhorn who would just yell profanities interspersed with "ya ya ya" whenever anybody was speaking. Like most of the protesters, he hid his face and was too ashamed to share his name.

It's funny that none of the counter protesters can win over any ranchers..or anybody except govt employees.. from the areas under federal siege.
