- is greatly exaugurated.

Trump folks, I'm sure you're dancing with joy these days. Your boy is in the Whitehouse, the GOP controls Congress, the Supreme Court has a Conservative majority and all's right with the world.

In the 50+ years I've followed politics, I've seen the political mood of the country ebb and flow like the tide. It shifted in 1976 when a peanut farmer upset a veteran Conservative, again in 1992 when an Arkansas Govenor upset a Reagan backed V.P., and again in 2008 and 2012 when a black State Senator from Illinois defeated 2 established Republicans.

Now, with the GOP firmly in control, any complaint, unresolved problem, impending disaster, or economic downturn will be laid squarely at the feet of Conservatives, and with no one else to point the finger at, Trump and Co. will be hard pressed to deflect blame to the Liberals.

So, enjoy it while it lasts Republicans- - because it never does. :bye1:

That's generally been my outlook too. Back and forth, each party considering any win a "mandate". Then they shove their agendas down our throats, piss us off, get voted out, wash, rinse, repeat.

The only wrinkle this time will be whether the GQP can change voting systems and access, which would not be a surprise. They'll almost certainly call many losses "rigged", with proof or not.

Otherwise, back and forth, back and forth. The parties don't learn.

I want both of your parties to succeed. As a Canadian and big supporter of America and her values, I want BOTH parties to support Americas success also. I want America to succeed.

It has come at a steep personal price I assure you.

I've not heard any speculation on the demise of the Democrat party, though it needs to die a horrible death and be replaced by a party of common sense.

However, what I have heard is discussions about how leaderless and deeply in disarray that party is, and anyone with two eyes and enough neurons between their ears can see that this is the case.

The only real question I have is, "Will they be able to kick the radicalized elements of their party out and regain some sanity?"

This remains to be seen.

Very true. When anything goes wrong the party is power is blamed even if they had nothing to do with it. Voters are fickle and is doubtful either party could do anything bad enough that voters wouldn't change back to them during times of stress under the other party. A great example is the present time. Democrats are now accusing Trump of some of the same things Republicans accused Biden of.

Supporting illegal gang members is what is really destroying the Democrat party.

What I've learned through the years is that the government and either party is
not our friends. The only solution to even have a chance is by term limits
up and down the board.
A Republic Is a Foster Government

Limit the politicians' powers instead through national initiative and referendum. And completely take away the Judiciary's powers to delay or cancel legislation and executive orders.
