What are your go-to “Spartan Meals”.

Aka simple meals with few ingredients that just get the job done.

A can of chili (with beans) poured over some boiled elbow macaroni.....Done and done. ;)

Brown a pound of hamburger and carry up some jars of home-canned vegetables, along with a jar of homemade beef broth, and call it veggie-beef soup.

That’s full of carbs. Not a “Spartan meal”.

hard to beat your basic fried baloney sandwich, but if you want hot food theres always the super quick chicken soup.

1 can chicken breast
1 can veg-all
4 cup chicken broth
1 handful of whatever noodle you happen to have around or rice
ground sage
garlic powder
onion powder
rosemary
thyme
salt
pepper
all spices to taste.

Simmer together for a few minutes and eat.

Not sure what 'spartan' means here. I make fast, low cost, meals that are well balanced and filling. Meat, potatoes, a vegetable, biscuit or roll, milk.

I guess you missed the "few ingredients" part.

Oh my!....That was the hunting camp standard "Spartan Meal" when it was just dad and me at hunt camp. Usually around this time of year too.

LOL.....Dad would always cut his sandwich in four pieces and dunk it in the soup.

He's missed.

Oh my gosh, and chicken in a pot. Basically chicken stock, chunked chicken breasts, mushrooms and a can of tomato paste. Serve over rice. Delicious

My grandmother made us eat rutabaga. I still haven't forgiven her for that.
.

Oh, I remember my mom's hearty vegetable soup, which always had big chunks of rutabaga. I'd sneak into the kitchen and steal a chunk of raw rutabaga. YUM!!!!
