Virginia Gov. Abigail Spanberger has ordered all state law enforcement agencies to terminate any and all agreements with federal immigration authorities under Section 287(g), reversing a policy put in place under the previous administration.

The executive directive, issued Tuesday, requires the Virginia State Police, Department of Corrections, Department of Wildlife Resources, and the Marine Resources Commission to end all Section 287(g) agreements and related memoranda of understanding with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE.

Section 287(g) agreements allow state and local law enforcement officers to be deputized to assist in federal immigration enforcement.

Spanberger said she rescinded former Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s Executive Order 47 because state and local law enforcement resources should be focused on public safety, not civil immigration enforcement.

According to the order, a review conducted by the Secretary of Public Safety and Homeland Security found that existing 287(g) agreements improperly shifted accountability and discretion from Virginia agencies to the federal government by requiring state officers to operate “under the supervision or direction of” ICE.

Spanberger’s order takes effect immediately and marks a significant shift in how Virginia approaches the relationship between state law enforcement and federal immigration enforcement.

The dems are like a Hydra, cut one head off and another one, even more vile than the first one, grows in it's place.

It's gonna be a rough row to hoe for a while in Virginia I have no doubt.
