I will watch Superbowl this year, and I will use the mute button on my remote to block out all TV ads. You can greatly reduce the idiocy of these ads by simply removing the sound. I will also not watch the halftime show. I find this enhances the experience. In addition I will use the mute button to remove interviews from female commentators that are only there to advance broadcasting careers and castrate the game. This is an interactive way for me to enjoy the game better.

I'm going with Seatle.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

They have organized a alternate half time show,I doubt I will watch either one. I am all for keeping politics out of sports.I would rather have a half time show of patriotic marching bands ,cheerleaders doing the human pyramid and fire works at the end.

Seattle to win. Score 35-28

...

No one asked, no one cares.

I have no interest in football - not even when my "beloved" Steelers are playing - BUT the Super Bowl is the program that advertisers value highest, for whatever reason(s).

Accordingly, I might watch to see the ads. The people who produce them are doing their absolute best to connect with what they perceive as their audience, so it can be instructive to see how that plays out.

The half-time show is another proposition altogether. Somebody, or some governing body, has chosen a particular performer on the guess that s/he is one that the audience is most likely to appreciate. Since I Iive in a cultural "silo" I shouldn't expect that the entertainment would suit me personally, but it interesting to see whom they target other than aging boomers.

Are you going to go post something completely untrue about education now?

Same, mostly muted. Especially since 04NOV2020. We once had the Aikman midget-Buck hot mic trashing Blue Angels (Trump?). It never ends.

Never seen any half time show over decades. No idea what they do? Remote off to movie with hot chicks every commercial binge, doing thst forever. Forget to go back sometimes, missing plays.

SB seems so anti-clamatic mostly. Feels like it should be best of 3? Or 5 full quarters? Something to make it a tougher test than playing 2-9 CLEVE in NOV. We've seen that. If a running SB 4yds repeat, the clock just runs out? The plays are very few over 3 full hours. Hope for good action. More pass attempts than short runs./_

Lol, I don't need to mute to ignore commercials. I have been an expert at tuning them out for a long time. I have never paid attention to them

A year or two ago I began muting the volume while watching the NFL. It wasn't just the commercials, unlike the radio broadcast where the game announcers call the action, on television much of the talk is centered on blowing smoke up some coach's butt and editorializing.

And I've had it with all the hype. I'm reverting back to calling it the NFL Championship game like it was when the NFL post season consisted of only 3 games. First the championship game, and then 2 worthless games the following weeks. One being the consolation game in Miami for 3rd place in the league, the other being the Pro-Bowl in Los Angeles.

I would think SEA could cover +7.5? If you lean SEA?

I would think NE could cover +17.5? If you like NE?

****no meaningful payback will exist in either bet as a standalone bet. But there is no "guarantee".

*****Wanna take a big mouth big shot risk? Take SEA -9.5 or more. Disclaimer: Losing bets is no fun.

Even though I haven't watched football in years, I will always cheer on the Hawks cause I remember the days when refs would call against them every stinking time.....until they won in 2014 against the Broncos,

It's unfortunate, that win or lose they are up for sale this year. Not sure what the reasons for this time, but it'll suck if they move out........kinda like the owners did with the Sonics. Then we'll be stuck with the Mariners, who I couldn't care less about.

Since we are putting random thoughts in this thread no one cares about:
  • 50% of the time the commercials are the best part
  • 50% of the time the half time is the second best part
  • 50% of the time the game sucks and is a blowout
  • 50% of the time (generously) the game is kind of compelling
  • 10% of the time the game is awesome

I'll take New England, although I don't care for either team. I am a huge NFL fan and up until Denver lost to the Patriots in the AFC Championship Game, had picked every playoff game winner. But now all bets are off ... (I don't bet, actually).
I always mute the commercials. I despise them.
I will not watch one millisecond of the ridiculous halftime show. My wife wants to watch the alternative Turning Point show. If I can find access to it, I'll put it on for her but won't watch it.
I only care about the game and hope it's a good one.

Will SEA score more than 16.5? 12.5? Sounds easy doesn’t it?

Will NE score more than 9.5? 13.5?

I had BUFF over 16.5? or 13.5? at MIA this year in a big parlay bet. 4 red zone BUFF TO cost me. The other items all hit. The "safest" (BUFF bet) did not cover. Burned my butt as they had it easily but messed up. I think they went for two once and failed keeping me under.

It is hard to find "guarantees".

One study had it at 12min of action over 3 hours game.

Don't forget the 9 hour pre-game show(s).

It is so hard to predict one game to get any payback odds.

Much better SAT (College) or SUN RedZone (NFL) to create parlay winning bets when lots of choices are available.

Halftime is for hitting the head and refilling the snacks/beer.

On paper SEA defense looks better. SEA could win a low scoring game 17-10? SEA could blow them out 24-3? "Could". Lol!

Darnold is more experienced buy Maye may (no pun) have higher ceiling? Vrabel uses him better?

But "I" never know. Would not surprise to see NE win on a late FG or TD score 31-28 or 10-7? A long Pass Interference call putting the ball inside the ten?

Anyone with a guarantee should post it like Joe Namath did in 69'

Think NE will win by a FG -2.5? Open an account. Put down $100 or more. Get $335 back into your account. Don't just talk, do.
