They were talking about this on a local radio show (Bob Frantz show) this morning. Our Fox local affiliation took a poll on the subject. It showed less than 5% of people thought banning the song was a good thing.

You know, there is a point where PC gets a bit crazy, and this is one of them. Yes, it's a song about a dude wanting to get a little, and he's using the excuse that it's cold so she should stay, but for crying out loud people, it's just a song.

I also thought it was stupid to edit Mark Twain's works to take out the n-word as well.

because I have simply had it with #MeToo and PC!

So, let me begin by saying, I am a 51 year old, white woman
I am anti #MeToo, anti feminist and frankly, embarrassed
But, most of all, I am ashamed of and by, the female gender

I know too many real women,
Too many strong women, to know the difference

There is a difference between a woman and a female

We ushered in an era of consequences...
Because people felt/feel they were/are entitled,
and had/have the right to do what they wanted/want,....
without being held accountable for their choices,
without regard to the effect on society over time

There are two sayings I'm fond of....

Now, I do realize that when the song was written in 1944, it was a different time, but now while reading it, it seems very manipulative and wrong. The world we live in is extra sensitive now, and people get easily offended, but in a world where #MeToo has finally given women the voice they deserve, the song has no place.

You know why the song has no place in a #MeToo world?

Because, if she would have fucking left
after the first line, "I really can't stay",
there wouldn't be a fucking song to complain about.

She hung around for ANOTHER drink, ANOTHER cigarette,
and was too worried about what her parents,
brother, aunt and neighbors would think.

She went to his house, She WANTED to stay,
she didn't want to deal with the consequences.

You can't blame a man for trying,
when those are the signals he is getting from the woman!
