Imagine that, ICE agents actually taking precautions in pulling over a person of suspicion being backed by their federal agency and doing their job?

At least until they found out the person was an off duty cop, and once identified, went on his/her way unharmed and unimpeded.

Everything that ICE and DHS are doing is enforcing Title 8 of the US Code. Just because you don't like it, doesn't make it "Gestapo."
As to any claim about the criminal illegals not getting "due process," they are. The due process in this case is ICE rounding up criminal illegals and holding them until they can be processed through the IMMIGRATION COURTS. Not the local, county, or state courts. Illegal migrants/aliens are a federal matter. Not a state matter.
If you "sneak" into Mexico, you will be arrested, jailed, tried (although don't expect a quick trial), and deported. The same is true all over Central and South America.
My guess is that you are part of the Marxist, Globalist, No Nation Borders, movement and that by losing those illegals, you are losing a pro-leftist voting base. I suggest moving to the UK, France, Spain, or Belgium for a couple of years to see how well that's going.

It only SEEMS like ICE is Gestapo now, you see, before, illegals knew they were safe with democrats out in the open, but now Trump is actually enforcing immigration laws and rounding up illegals? All the better too if they are serious criminals. Kind of funny that many of the ICE agents are Latino in nature seeing that apparently, many of the illegals are too.

Just a few years back, a returning ex-marine with PTSD was moving from Alabama or somewhere far south out to California carrying all his weapons in a car and got confused on some highway along the border and was forced onto a ramp that took him only into Mexico.

Once there he explained his mistake and just needing to get back on the highway for the USA to continue his way to California. Authorities arrested him and seized his vehicle and he spent the next year in prison literally fighting for his life. He almost committed suicide. Obama was president and did nothing. Finally after a year of trying with ambassadors and stuff involved, largely headed by Greta Van Sustern, the guy was finally freed back to the USA. If I recall, I think Trump ended up giving him something like a check for $20,000 to help the guy get back on his feet.
