So, should the families of plantation owners killed by slaves be given reparations also?

True, the slaves were powerless and could get no justice for the crimes committed against them by their owners, so who can blame them for paying them back by killing them?

But the point I want to make is

Reparations for past injustices are ridiculous and there would never be an end to the lawsuits filed and it would bankrupt the country.

Catholics were persecuted and not hired when they first came to this country. Their great grandchildren could demand reparations also...

Again, it would bankrupt the country and destroy many people's economic situations, so I'm just trying to draw attention to how ridiculous reparations are..

Isn't giving them special tax treatment for agricultural land reparations of sorts?

Derpa...

reparations can come in many forms.
The point is that we cannot give reparations to everyone who thinks he or she is entitled to them.

Or as Jesus said

"Unless you forgive, you will not be forgiven"

Blacks need to forgive

for their own souls' sake

I hope you hold whites to the same standard as MAGA is all about grievances real or imagined.

And in Germany, modern Jews sued the corporations which used Jewish slave-labor during the Holocaust. But...pretty much all the people who would have worked there, either as save master or slave, are dead now. So why does the corporation owe anyone anything now? The perpetrators are dead. The victims are dead. So modern people should be forced to make reparations to modern people, neither of whom really played a direct role? Just because the company still exists? The name may be the same, but the people are gone. A corporation is not an entity. A corporation is made up of people who own it and work there. I know tax law has created this bullshit of a corporation being an "entity" unto itself, and therefore is taxed twice: Once at the individual level and once at the collective level. A corporation is nothing but the sum of its investors. Playing by this summation rule, If the original investors are gone, it's really not the same company although it may sell the same products or services. If someone runs over someone in a car and gets away with it, and then sells the car, is the new owner responsible?

I don't even think you know what this means...
Of course because you are put upon. MAGA sure does like to play victim as justification for their entitlement. I will just assume that no, you do not hold whites to the same standard as you do blacks when it comes to getting over it.

Thanks, this was interesting, although I didn't know about that double taxation thing or that it was related to being called an "entity" (which I did know about)

Anyway, that last thing sounds like a good analogy.

Well of course you would assume something bad about me. You are a liberal.
