How will they have gay pride parades? Homosexuality is punishable by death in many sharia controlled nations/communities.
I can understand how the message of cheap rent and cheap food appeals to financially oppressed New Yorkers. However this is not the answer they think it is. While I certainly sympathize with the difficult cost of living New Yorkers must face as a result of living in a complex metropolitan construct they are lining themselves up for seven days a week of rice and bean a la Castro and 25x25 apartment hives that are substandard and inhumanely unequipped. This is inevitable.
Defund the police? In one of the highest crime cities on the planet? This is a good idea?
Tax the rich until they flee New York City?
I don't really care about the rich but the slippery slope won't stop with people whom the new mayoral candidate considers to be rich.
I think most people would agree that New York needs a makeover financially for the people who live there. Lack of action on that particular issue has festered a discontent that has fertilized an inevitable and catastrophic seizure of government by radical ( not progressive by the way) elements that appeal to people's anger apart from their reason.
What will Hochul, who is tied heavily into the financial elite of New York State and New York City do to protect her friends from this burgeoning Robin Hood? Lol.....
This fellow has the speaking and public charisma of Adolf Hitler! He's intelligent, well spoken and hits all the high notes.... Unfortunately that type of populism always ends up with some form of dictatorship.
I have to say I was moved by his speech talking to the struggling patrons of New York and promising them a better life.... He had the details until he mentioned Trump when he simply said we must fight Trump's fascism. An empty sentence that has no real meaning and basically indicates that he's more interested in crowd control and mind-control than he is in real solutions. There is no question that New York City has brought this on themselves.
I'm ordering a 50 lb bag of popcorn kernels!
