Actually the democratic nominee is named during the national convention which is much later and the official way a person is placed on the ballet. The national convention can name Harris as it nominee to run on the ticket. Its no different than if the nominee dies all of the sudden.

They are not going to reduce primaries again. A vote for Biden is a vote for Harris as they are both on the ticket.

Of course , Republican would love for this to be an issue

If the person who won the primary had died , then republican logic is do the primaries again.

Still it the national convention is where it is official made who the candidate is. So yes they can made a nomination.

Since Biden did win the primaries and he is no longer running for president then he can nominate his replacement.
