it appears that there are large enclaves of liberal neighbourhoods in some states. We all agree that diverse political thinking is necessary in a democratic society so shouldn't government manipulate the free choice of individuals in order to achieve this outcome? We already are doing this for race so why not do it for everything else we want to achieve as a society. The liberty to live our lives free of coercion from the government is so 1776...

Absolutely not. You cannot mandate social structure.

What did you mean by "we are already doing this for race"?

You're looking at it all wrong - our government doesn't "force" race or diversity -- they protect the rights of the minority and insure equal protect under the law.

So forms of "busing" back in the 70's were a misfire - they should have just put money into improving the rural black schools.

Some state and local governments already integrate via economic class. A builder sees a tract of land way outside of a Metro Area (think New York - NJ/LI, or DC-Maryland/NVA suburbs. Builder sees an opportunity to build Single family and townhomes. Local jurisdiction will only approve the zoning application and/or infrastructure if project also includes "multi-tenant housing" (apartments).

Dumbest idea ever. You want to integrate neighborhoods? Quit committing minorities to lifetime sentences of generational poverty.

ok well they should lead by example

build a public housing IN everyone of these ELECTED elitist asses, neighborhoods

Starting in Obama's

then "we the PEOPLE" can make up our OWN MIND on it
