President-elect Donald Trump joined the conversation on the ongoing sightings of mysterious unidentified drones and called for the government to “shoot them down.”

In a post on Truth Social, Trump questioned if the drone sightings could be “happening without” the government’s knowledge and added that the government should provide the public with answers.

“Mystery Drone sightings all over the Country,” Trump wrote in his post. “Can this really be happening without our government’s knowledge. I don’t think so! Let the public know, and now. Otherwise, shoot them down!!! DJT.”

It is so obvious that it is a common helicopter. I can plainly make out the skids and tail rotor section.

I thinks folks are freaking out about literally nothing. Every image I have seen so far clearly shows navigation lights in use.
Spy drones wouldn't be able to be filmed in the night because anyone running a spy drone wouldn't light them up for every idiot with a camera to see it.

Me too. I've seen several pictures of supposed drones that were easily identified as helicopters or small aircraft. A nefarious drone would have no need for the identifying lights used on normal aircraft. Those lights serve the same purpose as taillights on a car. Shooting one of those drones down might be similar to shooting at movement in a bush while deer hunting. It might be a deer (nefarious drone) but it might be another hunter (regular aircraft)
