Shohei leads off with a home run and pitches 5 shutout innings. Ruth never did that.

Due to roids.

I laugh at teetotalers crying about Ruth drinking beer.
better diet, hitting the gym.......not the bar perhaps?

you know they are tested for enhancements........right?

100 years ago they did not having running machines
quad, forearm, etc workout equipment

they did what they could with what they had, that's it

it just gets me when people say ruth was a fat guy.....the guy led the league in runs scored 8x no one has come close to doing that except ted williams who led 6x...you cant be fat and do that....he scored 150 runs 6x...and is the only player in history to score 170 runs...
not fat.......they were kinda a bit chubby? well Ted was not but ruth was kinda pudgy

OF did not have the arms they do today, just stronger, my agile, control

who........ruth? not sure

batters today can hit 100+ fastballs, what did you think ruth threw?

sliders, curve, knuckle......nah
He had a good fastball and a very good curve

Diets are worse these days. Gym equipment just mimics what you can do with long existing equipment.

You know that testing is riddled with problems, right?

From sports books over the years. And where do you get the stuff for your materials?

No, you don't. And when do you think history 100 years ago was written? You are confused again.
you have a team stat book from 100 years ago?
where do you get your information, scan of his baseball card?

they did not really keep stats like they do today back then, basic stats

yes they did keep stats....you can get a baseball game line score from the 1800's...including OBP,SLG and WAR....

Avoiding detection, false positives, classifying controversies, MLB looking the other way, and on & on.

But other than that, it all works great!

15th post
ruth pitched in the dead ball era....big difference then the live ball era...
thus kinda hard to judge him with the best pitcher of the past 20 years

you know, clemens, maddux, johnson......etc

pitchers had the advantage in the dead ball era....they used the same ball until the cover was coming off....
