Selecting a paint color

I thought of the cheesecake I ate and the colors in the cheesecake. A search turned up this pic with more options:

I could paint my bedroom one or more of those colors, print a giant pic of cheesecake and put that on a wall, and/or eat the last slice of cheesecake.
 
The living room has one of those neutral colors, not quite enough of anything to be labelled as a color. It has amber wood molding, probably shellacked, around the windows and doors. I'm leaning towards a light sand color, something lighter than amber and brighter than beige. A light blue would provide chromatic complementary contrast to the amber. A light pink would technically work, but I associate it with girls' dollhouses and similar childishness. Walls that look like actual sand can be done with more work and special paint.
