Secrecy within the Federal Reserve. Why is it that in many situations they can only be audited and accountable internally?

This is something I'm surprised people don't speak about more often.

Many parts of the Federal Reserve are deliberately hidden from public and even government scrutiny. Certain audits cannot be performed by outsiders. Only the Fed can fully audit itself.

Emergency lending, large-scale market operations, and foreign transactions are secret. These opaque areas create opportunities for abuse, mismanagement, or corruption that may never be discovered.

When massive power is paired with secrecy, abuse isn’t just possible, it’s likely. And the rest of us? Blind to it.

You'd have to be pretty naive to trust that situation.

And also, when was the last time we have had any kind of audit and verification for the holdings of Gold in Ft. Knox?
The last audit of Fort Knox’s gold reserves was conducted in 1953. Since then, most details are classified.

It's hard to trust a system you're not allowed to see.

You sir, and people like you, are the only ones that need audited.

The Fed is good and trustworthy, it is only people that bad and need to be held to some sort of account.

Now hush child and give them more of your tax money to be able to function.

When Trump appoints a new Fed chair, he needs to authorize a Fed audit by DOGE, like Rand Paul wants to have done.

These MAGA types need to be made an example of.

I can't help but sit here wondering how we can audit the Fed when we can't even audit USAID.

"Where did that half a trillion dollars in gold bars come from sitting in the USAID lobby on wooden skids?"

"Beats the hell out of me, but some Iranian dude says it is his and has come to collect."

I don't understand how the Fed can use real money?

How could they run the CFPB?

How could they effectively manage the $2.5b building of their Taj Mahal?

All they do is meet occasionally and have 200 or so economists. WTF?

We need to look in Fort Knox, don't we?

What happened to that White House Tour through Fort Knox that was supposed to be televised???

If you really want to go to a Bilderberg meeting this bad why didn't you say so in the first place?

I'll do my best to get you in, but on such short notice don't hold your breath.

I prefer if congress puts the Fed back in their box of just managing rates, not real money.

Well, JFK tried to do away with the Fed in Executive Order 1110, but then he flew to Dallas.

Yea, that didn't work out so well.

AI?

Could be.
In some places digital evidence of crimes is being ignored because of the potential for AI abuse. It's getting harder to convict pedophiles in some situations.
