After Democrats blamed Republicans for the shooting, after liberals claimed The GOP doesn't care about protecting kids, after O'rourke accused the gov of Tesxas of doing nothing to ensure the future of School kids, Chuck Schumer blocks legislation to do just that - protect kids and make schools more secure.

What was in the Act? The language. Is there a link rather than some other person's opinion on what is in the bill?

That’s not the rules set by the demleftists for this game. The rules are you give a bill a name that feels good and the leftists media just keeps spouting the feel good name without ever telling you what’s in the bill. Let’s keep it fair ok?

So, ignore their rules and walk your own path.

That path is to ask, what specifically is in the bill. The actual text. Then read it for yourself.

Let's not let others' opinions determine what we think and believe. Not even FoxNews.

Isn’t that the job of the “free” press?

Johnson had requested unanimous consent to pass the Luke and Alex School Safety act — a bill that would codify the Federal Clearinghouse on School Safety into law. The clearinghouse is currently available at SchoolSafety.gov and provides parents and educators information and recommendations on best practices to "prevent, protect, mitigate, respond to, and recover from a range of school safety threats, hazards, and emergency situations."

The website is maintained by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in partnership with the Departments of Education, Justice, and Health and Human Services. Johnson's bill would create a codified structure for the clearinghouse so it would become a permanent primary resource operated by the federal government to give best practices and recommendations for school safety to state and local school administrators. The bill would require that state and local governments be notified about the availability of this resource for schools.

This is a GOP bill but has bipartisan support. I don't see the reason not to pass it, maybe better security in our schools will make a difference, however small.

"GOP Sen. Johnson just tried for a bill that could see more guns in schools—I blocked it," Schumer boasted on Twitter.

I call bullshit.

The bill is useless and won't do a thing to protect children. Republicans have been passing bullshit legislation like this Bill since Sandy Hook, and such actions have done NOTHING to curb the number of attacks or the body counts.

For 30 years the Republican Party has refused to allow the CDC or any federal institution to even study the effects of gun violence. They've hired armed guards, "hardened schools", terrorized children and parents with "active shooter drills", while the NRA has promoted deadlier and more destructive weapons and ammunition.

Throughout the pandemic, gun sales skyrocketed and thousands more guns were on the street. Now there's a huge spike in gun violence, mass shootings, and murders. Quelle surprise.

Once again, Republicans attempt to put lipstick on a pig and pretend they're doing something about school shootings, when they're not.

once again we see the dems being dems…they don’t care about the children. they block any meaningful attempts to address issues they complain about because they want the problem…they want deaths, so that can make these tragic events political
