Every three years electric vehicle owners trade in their car. Compare that with an average of every 12 years for gas powered vehicle owners. And then think about all of the steel and rare earth minerals that go into producing a car, whether electric or gas.

Bottom line: you aren't saving the planet by buying an electric vehicle, in fact, you're probably doing WORSE than someone who buys a good used gasoline powered car and drives it into the ground. In short, if you really want to make a difference, then reduce, re-use, and recycle, in that order.

Reduce: gasoline usage by eliminating unnecessary driving.

Re-use: buy used cars not new

Recycle: your car as a last resort

but........for the left it feels SO good! they are usually wealthy ,have zero clue about how much earth usually in nice places are torn out for that lithium.
if they ever discover a massive deposit in the amazon, will the left suddenly cry........no you can destroy the rain forest for our EV?

doubtful because they have no clue where it comes from, they just enjoy being smug, oh look I have and EV, I'm saving the planet.

sadly they are not
