Sales of Bibles Are Booming, Fueled by First-Time Buyers and New Versions
Publishers attribute a 22% jump in Bible sales this year to rising anxiety, a search for hope, or highly focused marketing and designs
Hallelujah! Bibles are a bright spot in books this year.

Worries about the economy, conflicts abroad and uncertainty over the election pushed readers toward the publication in droves. Bible sales are up 22% in the U.S. through the end of October, compared with the same period last year, according to book tracker Circana BookScan. By contrast, total U.S. print book sales were up less than 1% in that period.

“People are experiencing anxiety themselves, or they’re worried for their children and grandchildren,” said Jeff Crosby, president of the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association. “It’s related to artificial intelligence, election cycles…and all of that feeds a desire for assurance that we’re going to be OK.”

What does the "New Versions" mean? Is there a move on to find interpretations that can deal with all the doubts on bible stories that are now questioned on them being literally true?

The bibles have to be somehow revised so that they can be consistent with the Catholic church now that they have rejected creation and accepted Darwinian evolution.

Will 'Genesis' be eliminated from the new versions now, or maybe later?

One doesn't need to turn to a bible to simply understand right from wrong. As an Atheist, here are my rules:
I don't like things stolen from me, so I won't steal from others. Unlike the fuzzy gentle moralistic Christians, I don't believe in coddling thieves. Chop off a hand, it sends a clear message, otherwise you just have the thieves continuing to steal, over and over and over. That's how they get lengthy criminal rap sheets, as they don't learn.
I don't murder people, so I don't like to see others murdered. Pretty self-explanatory.
I don't lie about others and thus don't like it if others lie.
Sexual intimacy should be kept in one's residence, not out in public.
Sexual preference is one's personal choice. Stay out of it.
Separate bathrooms for males and females stem somewhat from an Abrahamic morality concept. I've been all over the world and encountered areas where both sexes share spaces. I just had to immediately adjust my thinking on it, ignore it and go about my business. In the west, women feel safer if it's just biological females sharing their bathroom space, so it should be honored. Fix up a separate bathroom for Trans people or make it mandatory that they cannot enter a female bathroom until they've been surgically altered below the waist. That would separate the serious ones from the ones that just want to be watching women in the bathrooms.
