Los Angeles (AFP) - A man shot a police officer dead and wounded three others Friday before going on the run in California, US officials said, launching a massive hunt for the suspect.

The first officer was Sacramento County Deputy Danny Oliver, 47, and Michael David Davis, Jr., 42. Davis father was killed 26 years ago to the day, in the line of duty, as well.

Two officers lost their lives shot in head, another shot in the arm and another victim shot in the head after refusing to give up their car.

may they rest in peace, and thoughts and prayers to family and friends.
