you too and happy Easter everyone!Another great Sabbath rest. The only downside is that I feel so energized at the end of the day that it's often hard to go to bed (as the time of this post will attest). Happy Sabbath all!![]()

There is no special 'observance ritual' of the New Covenant Sabbath. It's a day of rest and leisure that anyone can enjoy. Its 'holy time' made holy just for us. The Sabbath rest is like a natural medicine that you take each week, that has a cumulative healing effect on body, mind, and spirit.I'm glad to hear you were able to gain some rest.
I can't observe Shabbat so I refrain from certain activities. I purchased some chocolate and allowed it to sit there and I will eat tomorrow as an example. I try to minimize the lights I turn on and general activities.
According to a few respected Rabbis a Noahide shouldn't observe it until after conversion as it was commanded to Jews only. Many reform Jews don't even observe Shabbat which is different I suppose.
It's good that so many Americans cherish Easter. In Canada it is just a day to give chocolate bunnies to kids and whatnot. Few even go to midnight mass or vigil either.
Are you referring to the Christian Sabbath of the Jewish Sabbath? There is no special 'observance ritual' of the New Covenant Sabbath. It's a day of rest and leisure that anyone can enjoy.
That's a tenet of Judaism, not to be taken seriously by anyone else. Are you referring to the Christian Sabbath of the Jewish Sabbath?
If you are referring to Shabbat, the directive of rest, which is followed to the extreme, than it was a directive to Jews only and should not be intentionally and fully followed by non-Jews. Even if one is practicing keeping Shabbat if they are planning to convert one day, they should break it purposely, even if just to turn on a light or the like
There is even a term for Jews who ask a non-Jew to break Shabbat for them, "shabbos goy". It is forbidden except for extreme cases, though of course, this is also dependent on ones personal beliefs i.e Hasidic vs Reform view of the Torah.
An interesting take. That's a tenet of Judaism, not to be taken seriously by anyone else.
An interesting take.
I will take seriously whatever premises I choose but thank you for the advice.
The heavenly meaning of Sabbath is the same as the literal meaning: Rest.jesus worked and taught on all days and new the heavenly meaning of the sabbath ... truth matters sometimes even for desert dwellers and some not at all, ever.

When I was a kid, almost all of America was closed for business on Sundays. (Our relatively few Jewish neighbors closed their businesses on Saturday.) I remember that as well. When I was a kid, almost all of America was closed for business on Sundays. (Our relatively few Jewish neighbors closed their businesses on Saturday.) Sunday School and Church was the norm followed by a special Sunday dinner which was fairly soon after Church rather than in the evening.
But it did seem the whole world became quiet that day. We kids played per usual but in my distant memory even our play was more subdued.
There are aspects of all that I miss.
