Why the dwarf from 50+ bunkers hates WhatsApp and Youtube? Because two services tell the truth about the lost war in Ukraine and failed economy. Only propaganda is allowed. Too sad, Russia is on the best way to became North Korea 2.0 and some western idiots still believe the country is an epitome of Freedom

For the first time in 18 months of war, Russian authorities alarmedWhatsApp users with talk of blocking the popular messaging app. Along with YouTube, it is one of two international services that the Kremlin has long wished to switch off, but fears a public backlash too much to follow through. WhatsApp is still the most popular messenger in the country.

No. The slowdown of YouTube and potential ban of WhatsApp is more about money and giving advantage to RuTube, VKvideo and Telegram.
USMB is also banned in Russia, so what? If you want to read USMB (or watch a specific video on YouTube) you just use VPN. No problem. But if you wish to "read something" or "watch something" - you just scroll VK or aftershock.news. Same way YouTube ban many Russian channels to give advantage to another resources.
The most important freedom is inner, intellectual, freedom. I can read USMB or WeChat because I do speak and read English and Chinese. Do you read aftershock or tzargrad? No, because you don't read Russian. That's your problem, not Putin.

Popular to who? I never even heard of it before.
Hmm, what do you use instead? I'm not sure about the personal data that can be stolen or something but otherwise it's the most convenient app one can have. There's also Viber that initially was as popular but got forgotten mostly and Telegram that is going to be an alternative for WhatsApp if it's banned, but the latter is the best of them all.

I use nothing instead. I don't need any of that crap.

If you say so. Is that how they reel in subscribers, by making the crap convenient?

Also never heard of it.

but the latter is the best of them all.
Apparently good at something I've never needed in my life.

How do you communicate with your friends or family when you're somewhere far from home, in Europe maybe or Mexico? It's an app with no apparent agenda. It's free and easy to use with no commercials and shit.

You spend a lot of time world traveling in other countries where they don't have a telephone or cellular service? Forget how to write a letter?

It's an app with no apparent agenda.
The ones with no apparent agenda are the scariest. That only means that it is well hidden.

Come, use me! I'm free! Gee, how magnanimous and altruistic some companies are to go through all that trouble to write software at their expense with no benefit just to make your life easier! :auiqs.jpg:

Well, you don’t have to send "Operation Barbarossa" plan to your buddy via it. For that you'll have to resort to the old cloak and dagger techniques. As for the chit-chat, which are the usual conversations over the phone, it's quite okay. Besides, what would it cost you to call someone in Europe with your cell and talk to him for half an hour?

I guess I'm a lot more self sufficient than that. I seldom call people or need to chat. My last friend in Europe passed away about two years ago, we used to email, send cards, rarely talk by phone, so, I don't have him to worry about anymore.

Only WhatsUp completely denies cooperation with KGB
