out here we have remote ER's from the hospitals....

Not only that, but one good thing to come out of Covid is virtual visits. I have had a pesky but non-serious medical issue for years that crops up now and again. I used to have to take a day off work, go to the dr, get the meds...when I KNEW what it was. Now for about $30 I can input my information online and get the meds I have taken for decades for it.

I'm pleased by this; it gets us closer to "health insurance should be like car insurance", where you pay for smaller issues and the insurance is only for the BIG ones

Hell you can't even be born in my town now, just transported to the main campus of Valley Health to be born.

Won't die here either if they can put you in a ambulance and tote you to the ICU there.....$1600.00 for a 20 mile ride BTW.

Oh and Valley Health threatened to sue the local VFD if they did anymore non-emergency transports....Our VFD did it for donations.

People can blame the .gov all they want but it's the Medical Systems that are really ******* us.

Definitely, but it's the government which enables them to do so. Same with insurance companies. Ever notice how insurance costs increase drastically under Democrat administrations? And I'm sure the .gov gets plenty for allowing it. It's truly a collaborative gangbang on consumers.

Anyway I'm going by personal experience in the experience of real people that I know. That's what I base most of my judgments on, as I tend to take official studies rather tongue-in-cheek.

My insurance increased under Obama. Stayed relatively the same under Trump. And then started hiking up heavily under Biden. And I've known quite a few folks who say the same.
