The trailer looks entertaining...

In the plot of the previous 1987 version, which I think was itself a remake with Arnold Schwarzenegger in the lead role, ''following a worldwide economic collapse and resource scarcity, the United States has become a totalitarian police state. The government maintains control through propaganda, censoring unsanctioned art, music, and communications. The most popular TV show, The Running Man, is a state-controlled game show where incarcerated criminals can earn their freedom by surviving as "runners" against lethal "stalkers".

Think this is a different plot, though.

I haven't ever read the book or seen the original '60s version.

Also, Crepitus I noticed that the Mary Kay C4 makes an appearance. I only tagged you because you're probably the only one on here who knows what I'm talking about by that. Heh heh...

Looks interesting. Hopefully, it won't be as cheesy as the Arnold movie.

I won't watch a remake. Hollywood has no creativity.

The trailer looks good. I liked the original, but as you said, this is going to be a bit different.

Yet another movie that in a few years I will be excited to see the title on Cable, but disappointed when I realize it's the remake.

Same thing I go through with Karate Kid, Roadhouse, and Ben Hur.

You liked The Departed so much you listed it twice :)

Looks entertaining. Not every move has to make you cry, have a twist, or some deep meaning. Running away from and then defeating the bad guys always makes for a potential good time.

Do people still watch movies? I can rewatch something from the past but haven't been able to go beyond a five minute mark of anything new without confronting a black snow-white or a figurative gay Worf of the Star Trek. News programs are the sci-fi nowadays.

Running Man is a bad remake of the Schwarzennegar bastardization of Steven King's Running Man, of which a more faithful version is currently playing under the title "the Long Walk."

The concept is overly worn nowadays but I liked a lot of the Long Walk. The ending sucked and I didnt like the bad guy. The rest was really good. Solid kid acting, or young adults.

Your prejudice is causing you to miss a lot of cool stuff. I wonder when I get old if I will be as close minded or not. Its a shame that at some point people think they have it all figured out, get cynical and jaded, and live a shit life. I am going to try and learn from you old guys on how not to live life.

I had no idea they did that to Vettes. I thought they were all Caddies?

I also did not know the Schwarzenegger movie was a remake.

I actually prefer them that way. Movies are escapism.
